Bato School of Fisheries (BSF) Brief history Background by virtue of Republic Act No. 685, the bato school of fisheries, a vocational secondary school was created on May 9, 1952, but it was only in July, 1961, when it actually opened with 31 students They were temporarily housed in the bato Municipality Hall.Whit the increased enrolment in the next school two temporary buildings were constructed within the compound of the Municipality Hall.Predicting that the School would grow steadily in matters pertaining to enrolment and facilities, the administration worked for the transfer of the school at the new site in Barangay tinago , in May, 1964.It all started with the construction of small Buildings made of light materials like bamboos, nipa shingles, sawdli and lumber, serving as temporary classrooms and offices.The Administration worked for more infrastructures and prioritized the construction of the related subject buildings, the followed by the vocational Buildings, the Administration buildings, the Guest House, the annex administration, the guard station, the two-sturey administration office, the two-sturey science buildings and vocational buildings in June 1975, the School was authorized corriculum leading to the diploma in fisheries Technology, a three-year Technical fishery course per approval of the secretary of the Department of Education and Culture and Sports dated October 18, 1974, However, the said program was trerminated by virtue of DECS Memorandum No,126, s.1998 and Regional Memorandum No, 92, s. 1998 "Prohibition on offering Ladderized Post-Secondary Courses in Vocational School"At The start, the school was under the adminostrative supervision of the Bureau of Vocational Education until 1975 when it was abolished.The supervision was passed on the Department culture and sports , Regional office No.Vlll.Mr. Jaime E. Jude was the pioneer Vocational school administrator of the bato school of fisheries from 1961 to 1990 and folllowed by Mr. Expedito T.Cuarto Cruz from 1990 to 2012.After the previous administrator's retirement , Mr.Roberto R. Jardin actea as officer, in-charge in 2012-2014 Presently, the Bato School of Fisheries is headed by a school/principal lll Mr. Napoleon C.Mazo who is from Caricara Leyte.The technical-vocational High School program os a regular curriculum with special features for students whose needs are preparation for higher learning and gainful employment.The four-year curriculum builds on the Basic Education curriculum (BEC) with technical-vocational Education (TVE) as the core of the program. The redesigned program is an enhancement of the current technical -vocational curriculum and it's focused on the 21st century Core Skills namely:digital age literacy in rentire thin king, effective communication and high productivity.Currntly, the School Spports and implements K-12 curriculum of the Department of Education which provides 6-years Secondary Education.

More popularly known as STEM, this strand is perfect choice if you are planning to study Applied and Pure Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering in college.students that choose this strand also end up studying Chemistry, Calculus, Physics, and Biology.Fair warning, though, this strand is not for the faint-hearted.
HUMSS
°Humanities and Social Sciences Strand otherwise known as Humss, this strand is for students who are planning to take up writing(novelists in particular), Sociology, Community Studies, Law, andPolitical Science, those who want to take up Priesthood also tend to choose this strand.
ABM
°Accountancy , Business and Management Strand Also known as ABM, this strand is for students who plan on taking ug business administration, Marketing, Accountancy, or Economics in college.Typically, students who plan on taking a hotel and Restaurant Management degree can also choose this strand.
TVL
°Technical-vocational Livelihood Track the TVL calls out to students that are eligible since its subject are more focused on job-ready skills. Aside from that, it also offers students practical knowledge along with the necessary certificates to help students land their dream job after they graduate from senior high school.The strands under the tech-voc track are as follows.
